it’s the end of March, which means that the horrible winter should be finally over. Today we had a beautiful sunny day, however, it snowed two days ago, so I suppose spring is not yet to bless us with its presence. Even though the snow is already gone, so… maybe the weather will stay like this and only get better? If we pray a lot?
I’m passing CAE exams in one week and so you can probably imagine the anxiety attacks I get. I can’t wait for all of this to be finally over, for the tension to disappear after lying heavily on my shoulders for such a long time. I keep making myself feel better by saying that it’s not a big deal, that what is meant to happen will truly happen. And I guess it’s true. After all, we never know what lies in ahead of us – maybe life is preparing something wonderful for me. For all of us.
ON ÉCRIT SUR LES MURS by KIDS UNITED
I fell in love with this beautiful French song.
THE HUNDRED-YEAR-OLD MAN WHO CLIMBED OUT OF THE WINDOW AND DISAPPEARED by JONAS JONASSON
I must admit I had high expectations before reading this book because it was a bestseller and my attitude towards bestsellers is always quite sceptical. However, this book did not disappoint me. And it even pleasantly surprised me! It is funny, Jonasson’s sense of humour fits mine – it very often makes you smile a bit, but sometimes it’s also a really black humour with a slight flavour of sarcasm. Love that. This is a really good book for taking your mind off things and relaxing a bit.
THE END OF THE F***ING WORLD
I’ve fallen for this series so much that I’ve written a whole article about it. You can read it HERE.
Another great series worth mentioning. I don’t know what I expected from the Black Mirror, but it definitely wasn’t similar to what I watched afterwards whatsoever. Black Mirror surprised me A LOT. It’s brilliant. It’s a quality series with interesting twists and deep meanings in each episode and the stories are just so original and unique that it blows my mind. I’ll definitely write an article on this one.
NORTHANGER ABBEY by JANE AUSTEN
This book was recommended to me by my dear friend Veronica and about one week later, I found it in our library in a massive sale. That’s fate, isn’t it? The first thing that comes to my mind when I see the Northanger Abbey is the word HILARIOUS. This is just such a hilarious and clever novel, I can’t NOT enjoy reading it. I love Pride and Prejudice as well, however, this book has been much better so far. Jane Austen was a great woman.
Man, this was a lucky month for my series soul. I’ve watched the whole Riverdale in like one week, I actually finished it today and it’s tearing my heart apart that there’s going to be a break three weeks long. Even though Riverdale is kind of a high-school-teenage-friendly-sometimes-I-feel-too-old-for-it series, there’s something about it that just makes me love it. The story is good, the atmosphere is quite dark and thriller-like… and I just couldn’t stop watching it since there was a cliffhanger at the end of almost every episode. And I’ve fallen in love with Jughead. I just hope this series doesn’t turn into the new Pretty Little Liars, that would be a shame because it has a great potential (just like PLL did before they went on and on and on because of money… sometimes it’s just better to end it when there’s still time to preserve some quality).
All in all, March was all about studying, watching series in order to blow off some steam and get into the proper English mood for CAE, and… yeah, I guess that’s it. Uhm. Really can’t wait to finally move abroad.
I also love this squirrel that so kindly let me take a photo of her/him today.
What about your March favourites? Have you watched some new series as well? Let me know in the comments.
